SCREEN/SOUNDS at Lot 45 (December 2014)
Music + Film + Video: Cosmic A//V Collaborations
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2014 at LOT 45
Destination Moon presents SCREEN/SOUNDS: an evening of audio-visual collaborations. What happens when film and music collide? Presented at the L train’s most beloved new venue, Lot 45 (411 Troutman St.) audiences will encounter a kaleidoscopic meeting of the minds as musicians, composers, filmmakers and visual artists all join forces and breathe new life into their medium.
SCREEN/SOUNDS kicks off with short dance films from Laura Bartczak, followed by shorts from Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective’s Avi Zev Weider and BullMoose Pictures, performed with original, live scores from the composer/performer duo Carson Moody (of Tigue) & Anthony Vine, and Star Rover, who will finish with a full set: Following the screenings, we shake out the day and move our bodies to the indie pop of Brooklyn’s own Modern Rivals and Legs, as artist Jesse Mann (of Stepkids A/V claim to fame) washes each band with a unique set of projections.
Then we dance till dawn while guest DJs Mister Kingdom (of Zongo Junction) and Adam Schatz AKA DJ Backwards Baseball Cap spin cosmic tunes with some extraterrestrial dancers over a screening of the sci-fi classic Destination Moon.
